The Makings of a Bad Monday

With this being my first day back to work after nearly a 2-week vacation, I was already not completely woken up as I walked 5 blocks to the subway stop this morning.

I knew it was not going to be a good morning when I got onto the platform to find it completely PACKED with people waiting. I waited for a good 15 minutes, while express trains flew by on the outer track, and I patiently awaited a local train. Patiently, and very frigidly. Usually, I wouldn't have to wait more than 2-3 minutes, as that's the frequency in the morning rush.

The carefree evening trip home more than made up for it, as I was running late to a Board meeting, which I was hosting. Made it in 25 minutes!

I too ride the local in the morning and feel your frustration at seeing express trains flying by left and right while you are still waiting. At least the commute home was good though! On my commute yesterday, the emergency break came on for no reason and we had to wait for like 15 mins while someone walked along the tracks and "investigated."

Ugh, I hate things like that, Subway Gal. Trains always choose to break when I'm on them too!
